KnowledgeMap Research Page

KnowledgeMap (KM) is a web application developed at Vanderbilt to enhance medical education.  It is based on a rigorous, score-based concept indexer (the KM concept indexer) that identifies UMLS concepts in uploaded full-text documents.  We have built tools to search documents, identify relevant pubmed searches, and identify where certain "metaconcepts" topics are taught.  In addition, the program includes course management and calendaring features, as well as automatic document conversion.

Applications:

KnowledgeMap web application
Contains all medical curriculum documents as a fully searchable, concept-indexed database with course management tools.
KM Portfolio application page
Collects all trainee clinical writeups, indexed by concepts and words, defining mentor-trainee relationships for feedback.
  EBM and Drug Search engine
A tool searching several EBM repositories (as collated by Eskind Biomedical Librarians) and several popular drug resources.  Also provides links to KM documents and generates PubMed queries. More info
